A Princess and a Monkey

Here we are again.....living the fast life......and taking pictures to remember it!! It's amazing what adding another child to your life does. I went back to work after 9 weeks of maternity leave. It wasn't easy, but I have to admit.....I missed socializing with people my own age. As hard as it is, I think work is good for you....especially when you love your job! I have moved to a different team at work and couldn't be happier. I am so busy now that my days just fly by.......then I get home and it's non stop until the kids are in bed. By the time we sit down to watch our shows we are wiped out! The evenings are a blur to me.....which is kind of sad because it's going by so fast. Before we know it, Ayden will be Addy's age and Addy will be in grade school! Why do they have to grow up so fast. Addy's already trying to use big words like "specially" (especially) and "Oh my gosh!", which isn't a big word.....just really funny when she says it.

Anyway, as everyone knows...Halloween has just passed. Addy was Ariel, The Little Mermaid, and Ayden was a Monkey. It was a really fun Halloween this year. Addy carved a pumpkin for the first time and she got to Trick or Treat twice! We have enough candy to last us until next Halloween! Here are some pictures of us and the kids at the pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins and Trick or Treating.

Addy's new bike and new playground!

Well, now that Addy is a big sister, she deserves a big girl bike. She rides it like a pro and loves it....well, until she starts going down a little hill and goes faster than she would like. Then she's done. She'll get the hang of it. Also, Jarid built Addy a new playground. Addy got to break out her own yard tools and help daddy with the mulch! Then, of course, she had to take a drive in her Jeep.

Ayden 1 Month

Ayden is a month old already!!! I can't believe how fast it's going. I go back to work Oct 2. The first five weeks have gone by so fast. We are all adjusting very well. Addy has done so much better than we thought. You never know what to expect out of a child who has been the center of attention for 3 1/2 years. She is still wanting to hold him and she helps out by checking on him and making sure he's ok. She's the best big sister ever. Here are some pictures of Ayden at 1 month.

Ayden Is Here!

Well, at 38 1/2 weeks, Ayden decided to meet his family. It's really quite a story, but I won't blab too much. At about 2:58pm on Monday, 7/27, my water broke while sitting in my chair at work....and yes, it caused quite a scene! I started getting some painful contractions about an hour later. I waited through those for about an hour and received my epidural at about 6pm or so. Ayden was born at 7:14pm, measuring in at 8lbs 6oz and 18 1/2 in long. He has a head full of long dark hair and a set of lungs that can make you ears ring. It all happened so fast, that I don't think it hit me until the next day. At 4 days old he was jaundice and had to wear a bili band around his belly for one night. He went through 3 mornings of blood work and then he was all better. Addy is just loving her baby brother. She has been such a good big sister so far, wanting to hold him and making sure he's ok all the time. It's such a joy to have our family completed with a little brother for Addy. Here are some pictures to enjoy. Just click on the pictures to enlarge them.
